Rainbow Skittles feat. Candy Lacquer - Over The Rainbow

Kind of unusual for me, I felt like something really colorful yesterday. I decided to go full rainbow and picked five colors from my stash: Essie - Geranium, H&M - Lemon Tree, Catrice - I'm Not A Greenager, Catrice - It's All I Can Blue & Essence - Passion For Fashion. Because the skittles mani on its own wasn't colorful enough yet, I added two coats of Candy Lacquer - Over The Rainbow on top of each color and finally one coat of Essie - Good To Go. I'm not completely happy with my chosen colors, because I don't have a bright dark blue at the moment and the yellow turned out ot be a bit muted. My favorite combination was actually the purple base with the rainbow glitter, because there all the colors showed up on the nail very clearly.

New Year's Eve Confetti Fireworks Nails - Candy Lacquer - Candy Crush

What's a better occasion for Confetti Nails than New Year's Eve? I decided to use another one of my Candy Lacquer bottles to do some colorful nails. I'm very happy with Sugar Mama and Over The Rainbow but sadly Candy Crush is not that perfect. I used one coat of p2 - eternal first and then added two coats of Candy Lacquer - Candy Crush. As the name implies, the glitters are very randomly shaped and the problem is that you can feel that on your nails. Even if you apply the polish very neatly, the surface won't be completely smooth (see my macro shot!). Even after one coat of BTGN Top Sealer I started scratching some of the glitter off. Besides the application I actually really like the idea of that mixed up glitter!

These are actually not my nails for tonight, I will update you on those on Wednesday.

For now, I wish you a happy new year! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and e-mails throughout 2012, you're awesome!

Gingerbread Candy Nails with Sugar Spun

Yummy, right? Already with my previous Gingerbread Nails I planned on adding Sugar Spun, but then decided against it. Now I got the prettiest rainbow glitter polish from Candy Lacquer and it seemed perfect mixed with some Sugar Spun and Gingerbread. So I started with two coats of China Glaze - Foie Gras and then added two coats of Candy Lacquer - Over The Rainbow. Over The Rainbow is a colorful glitter nail polish - really just like the rainbow - with round, square and hexagon shapped glitter and in between some hearts. The great thing about this one, just as in my previous post about Sugar Mama, the application is great, even the hearts come out of the bottle by choice. That's how you make a good glitter nail polish! After the glitter I added one coat of BTGN Top Sealer and let everything dry. Then I used an almost empty and quite gooey China Glaze - Snow to create the Sugar Spun. Voilà - candy nails!

Candy Lacquer - Sugar Mama & Essie - Need A Vacation

On Black Friday the Candy Lacquer polishes were reduced to 7$ each, which is why I can now finally call three of those pretty ones my own. The first one that I want to introduce to you is called Sugar Mama and is a clear base with tiny pink, white and black glitters. I bought this because it seemed to be the pink little sister of Floam. And well, it is! Application is great, there's a lot of glitter on the nail and it looks just too cute! I decided to use it as a gradient over a lovely pink from Essie called Need A Vacation. This one needed three coats to be completely opaque, but drying time was alright. Then I added two coats of Sugar Mama for the gradient and one coat of BTGN Top Sealer on top.
