Deadly Sins Challenge - Day 2: Lust (English Rose & Studs)

Yay, we're already at Day 2 of the Deadly Sins Challenge! This week the sin we're supposed to display is Lust and this time the theme says: Let your body talk and feel free to do whatever you want.

Well, I was really at a loss at first, because for lust all that came to my mind was lips & hearts. But then I decided not to take it too literal and started to paint my nails with two coats of Essie - Smokin' Hot (okay, perfect choice anyway...). Then I added triangles with striping tape and Essie - Blanc. On top of Blanc I painted the glue for the transfer foil and added a foil called English Rose (sold out at the moment). I then used one coat of Star Nails - Nail Art Finishing Sealer and added the studs while the top coat was still wet. On top of it all is an additional coat of Essie - Good To Go.

Blue & Golden Ruffian Nails feat. Gold Foil

I haven't used Nail Art Foil in a long time but I still had an unused golden one with black marble in my drawer. So I tried to combine it with my recently discovered Ruffian Nails which I like a lot. It didn't turn out quite as good as I hoped but I think with some practice it would look pretty cool. I used two coats of Essie - Mesmerized as a base coat. It is a bit darker in real and I used one coat of Good To Go on top. Then I added my foil adhesive in a bow shape, just like I would with Ruffian Nails. After letting the glue dry, I applied a piece of foil onto the nail and pressed it down a bit. If you're having problems with applying foil to your nails you may want to try to wait longer for the adhesive to dry. I've made best results with about 10 minutes. As always it looked better before applying the sealing top coat (I used Star Nail Art Sealer). Actually I'm not too sure about this but I think I bought this foil at Naildelights. Sorry about that!

NOTD: Valentine's Day 2 - English Rose

I already blogged about this foil a few months back but I think it is perfect for a Valentine's Day design. Besides I improved my technique and equipment since I last used these foils.

I added two coats of China Glaze - Snow as a basecoat. I use the nail foil adhesive from Naildelights and it works great. You apply it and let it dry for about 5 minutes. Then you press the pre-cut foil gently onto the sticky nail until the design starts to peel off the clear foil.

Then I added one coat of Star Nail - Nail Art Finishing Sealer and one coat of BTGN Top Sealer.
