Tribal Nails for Fall

I recreated my H&M inspired Tribal Nails from spring but this time with a pop of color, using my current favorites. I'm so in love with fall and all its colors! I used two coats of Essie - Maximillian Strasse Her as my base color. With a nail art brush I added very small strokes to create the tribal pattern with Sally Hansen - Night Watch and Essie - Bahama Mama. And somehow unconsciously I matched my nails with my outfit today, it's awesome when that happens! On top is one coat of Essence - BTGN Top Sealer.

Cheeky Jumbo Plate 1 - Viva Mexico!

It's been a while! The last few days I was wearing plain black nails on a camping site here in Switzerland and I really started to miss nail art or changing my nail polish for that matter. Good thing something awesome arrived in the mail today! I ordered the Cheeky Jumbo Plate 1 Viva Mexico three weeks ago and I love it so much! I haven't done stamping designs for a while now and I'm actually not that big of a fan of this technique (because I suck at it, ha!), but I just had to have this particular plate. If you are a longtime reader, you might know why ;) Of course I couldn't decide which design to use first, because basically all of the full designs are gorgeous! So I chose four colors and five different full designs. The colors used are: Essie - Maximillian Strasse Her & p2 - Night Out and Anny - Latina & Anny - Soul Sister. On top as always is one coat of Essence - BTGN Top Sealer.

Blue & Yellow

I realized today I'm really out of practice when it comes to to free-hand nail art. I painted this design with a nail art brush and I messed up some of the lines. Well, I need more practice! The colors were standing side by side on my desk, waiting to be stored again and I figured they would look good combined in a design. They're Essie - In The Cab-Ana, Avenue Maintain, China Glaze - For Audrey, Re-Fresh Mint and Anny - Sunshine In My Heart.  I used acrylic paint for the black lines. On Top is one coat of Essence - BTGN Top Sealer.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a bright opaque yellow nail polish? Sunshine In My Heart is just almost opaque with three coats and actually it's not bright enough for me. What's your favorite?

Deadly Sins Challenge - Day 1: Lust (Aztec Nails)

I'm really excited today, because I was asked to participate in my first ever nail art challenge! Helena from Nail Wish and Alice from One Nail To Rule Them All decided to create a challenge on the subject of the Seven Deadly Sins, two days for each sin and one sin per week. I will try to do both days every week! Click on the picture to see a list of all the days:

Today is Day 1 (Lust) and the theme says: Be a bad girl and make something you have wanted to do soo badly. This probably doesn't make me a very bad girl, but I wanted to do an aztec design, inspired by this beautiful manicure by Coewlesspolish, for a long time now. Mine was also inspired by my new favorite jumper from C&A Clockhouse. I used two coats of Essence - Got A Secret as my base color and then painted the patterns with acrylic paint, which took me forever. Then I added two coats of Essie - Let It Shine, went to sleep, woke up with marks all over my design and added one coat of Essie - Good To Go to even the surface.

Besides the awesome theme there's another reason for my excitement: the other ladies participating in this challenge are amazing nail artists! You can see their designs below and come back at the end of this week to see the complete first part of the challenge:

Black & Beige Tribal Nails feat. Essie - Sand Tropez

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
This one was inspired by a shirt from H&M that I rediscovered last week in my closet and the technique of painting with tiny strokes as seen in my recent Ikat Nails. This is the first design in weeks that I'm really happy with and I feel like my inspiration is (hopefully) finally coming back. I used two coats of Essie - Sand Tropez as my base color and then painted the tribal pattern with black acrylic paint, like I said with a nail art brush and very short strokes. On top is one coat of Essie - Good To Go. I can really recommend this technique because it's not difficult to achieve a great result. Even with a bit shaky hands the pattern will look just fine. Also this could be a good design to practice nail art with your weak hand!

Enjoy your Sunday evening my dear readers! :)
