Sally Hansen sent me their new Designer collection inspired by Tracy Reese, Rodarte & Prabal Gurung. I didn't want to simply swatch these colors but rather combine them in a nail art design. For a first part I chose a blue & red toned water marble. I used a dark navy called Night Watch (Prabal Gurung inspired), a beautiful turquoise called New Wave Blue (Tracy Reese) and a classic red called Perfectly Poppy (Tracy Reese). I swatched them with two coats each on one nail and the formula is smooth and fast drying. These are my first Sally Hansen polishes so I wasn't familiar with any of their products. I didn't like the brush a lot, it's rather chunky and looked a bit 'deformed', I prefer the long round brushes. For the water marble I used a white base to make the colors pop. These are pretty good for water marbling by the way! On top is one coat of BTGN Top Sealer. Part 2 with three more colors will follow soon! This collection will be available in September for 8.99 Euro per 14.7 ml.
AntwortenLöschenJo same here. Rot und Nude find ich einfach so auch eher langweilig! Mir gefällt aber vorallem Night Watch!
LöschenBeautiful! I wouldn't have thought of using this colour combo for a water marble, but it looks really good :)
AntwortenLöschenI saw them lying next to each other and thought, oh these three might look cute together, then did a test water marble nail and liked it a lot! Thank you! :)
Löschenreally surprising color combo, but it looks so good! by the way, how does it happend that a brand like Sally Hansen sends you polishes to review? (I've been always wondering :D)
AntwortenLöschenThank you! :) Usually (well, always?) the brands or their PR companys contact me via email and ask if I want to be part of their network. Then they send me either random stuff or sometimes they ask me what I would like to review.
LöschenHey, this water marble is simply amazing! What kind of drawing do you do on the nail polish in the water in order to have that effect? I tried so many things and still it doesn't look like a zig-zag!
AntwortenLöschenThank you so much! I learned this pattern from my favorite Youtube Marble artist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKqdUBq7SXs
LöschenI think it is important that you clean the needle after every stroke or so, this way the zig zag lines stay well-defined!
Amazing! I love it!
AntwortenLöschenHoly cow, that manicure looks SICK! Just amazing, I love it :-) One of the prettiest nail arts I have seen lately.
AntwortenLöschenAyy, thank you! :)
LöschenBeautiful design
AntwortenLöschenI've never tried a water marble but your posts always make me want to - this one is as gorgeous as ever! I was unsure of the Complete Salon Manicure brushes (the flat ones with rounded ends) at first but I actually really like the way they fit in my cuticle now - with the caveat that I've had a few with wonky brushes, which makes them super annoying haha.
AntwortenLöschenDat marble O.o gorgeous!
