Dance Legend Mortal Kombat - Rain / Thermal Flakie Polish

Dance Legend has sent me a package with a bunch of beautiful polishes to review and today I will start with one of my favorites. It's Rain* from their Mortal Kombat collection, which is a small but awesome collection of thermo polishes with flakies. Rain is the purple one of the three with orange red flakies. While cold the base is a very dark purple, almost black, but it will turn into a bright purple with increasing warmth. It has a matte finish, which I think makes it even more beautiful. I used two coats for the pictures without any top coat. It will probably not last very long, but since it dried very fast and matte flakies are awesome, that's okay with me. As you can see, I had trouble deciding on pictures, but I guess this one deserves the exposure. You can buy Dance Legend polishes through their website or their partner shops. Due to the Christmas break and the general slowness of the Russian post, this took quite a while to get to Switzerland, which is something worth considering. These are the small DL bottles with 6 ml and their sold for $8 each. I recommend having a look at the other two colors over at Anna Gorelova's blog, since I'm definitely going to get my hands on these as well.

Dance Legend - Termo Trio #1 (Tricolored Color Changing Nail Polish)

Dance Legend - Termo Trio #1 (Tricolored Color Changing Nail Polish)Now, if you enjoyed the thermo nail polish that I posted on Friday, you're definitely going to enjoy this one as well! Unless you dislike purple. But I don't think anyone could dislike purple so much that they would dismiss a tricolored thermo nail polish. Am I right? Today's polish is Dance Legend - Termo Trio #1 and just like #170 it changes the color depending on temperature. But this one goes from dark purple (cold) to light purple (lukewarm) to light blue (warm). That would be three colors in one polish and imho amazing. As mentioned in my latest post, I had more luck with the formula this time because I used two thin coats and one coat of Essie - Good To Go on top. But if you only use two coats, the light blue will turn out to be a tiny bit sheer. I was wearing this one for 2-3 days and it didn't chip. But it is definitely not a perfect formula and I wouldn't wear it longer because I had more than the usual tip wear after those 2 and a half days. Because my pictures don't do this beautiful polish justice I made another video:

Dance Legend - 170 (Thermo - Color Changing Nail Polish)

Dance Legend - 170 (Thermo - Color Changing Nail Polish)If you follow me on Facebook you might already know that I will be reviewing a special brand the next few days. I've been contacted by the Russian nail polish brand Dance Legend and they sent me 10 nail polishes to review. They have a lot of different styles and textures and I haven't seen a brand like this before.
I decided to review my favorite one first, because I couldn't wait to show you this one! It's Dance Legend - 170, a thermo nail polish. That means it changes the color depending on the temperature. In the bottle and on cold nails it's a very dark purple, but as soon as your hands are getting warm the color will change to bright red. At fist I thought it would be the same effect as with Del Sol nail polish. But the color change is much more apparent here. Especially with water the effect is awesome (see video), but it works with cold and warm air/skin as well. I think it would make a good job as a lie detector! :) That's the good part.

The not so good part is the formula which is quite gooey and not easy to apply. I used two coats but even with one coat of Essie - Good To Go on top it didn't dry very fast. And even worse: after maybe 20 hours I was able to peel half of the polish from my nails. Now this can either be the combination of my base coat (Microcell 2000) and top coat (Essie GTG) or the way I applied the polish. Or it could be the formula. I will try other combinations and keep you updated! (Update: I'm wearing the second Thermo nail polishes from Dance Legend for about the same time now and it still looks perfect. I think my fault was the application, I'd recommend two thin coats. But I will try the same with #170 as well!) Now on to the pictures:
