Dance Legend: Round Space Collection - Supergalaxy & Inception plus Black Glitter Base

I'm back to blogging and can finally post my swatches of the Dance Legend Round Space* collection. They send me two polishes to review plus the Black Glitter Base* which is a peel off base coat for glitter nail polish. I haven't tried a peel off base coat and I'm quite happy with the aluminum glitter removal technique, but I was excited to try this one. Since it's black, you can use it as a black base color for glitter top coats, which I think is great. I used one coat of the Black Glitter Base and then added one coat of Supergalaxy, a really great glitter polish. After a few days without any major tip wear, I decided to remove it. I filmed part of the process to show you two ways of doing it. You can either pull off the whole layer with your nails. This worked great, but even though I couldn't see any damage, I feel like it isn't the healthiest method for your nails. Or you can use a nail polish remover and use it as usual. While this doesn't usually work, it will remove the glitter almost immediately with the black glitter base. Supergalaxy by itself has a blue tinted base, so I added a picture comparing it to Inception without the black base coat at the end of this post. Inception is a beautiful syrupy pink glitter of which I used two coats. Both polishes plus the peel off base coat are available the Dance Legend online shop for $9 each.

Glowing bottles!

Dance Legend Enamel Glass - 1052 & 1054

Whoop whoop, back to square nails! They're not perfectly shaped yet, but I do like them so far. The next two colors from my Dance Legend package are from their Enamel Glass collection, a selection of glossy, kind of sheer polishes inspired by coloured glass. I like the idea and the dark red one looks pretty cool, but as you can see I had some trouble with the application. 1052* looks nice with two coats, but I couldn't get an even finish with 1054*. I'm wearing no base or top coat for the pictures. I think these could be cute for some watercolor/stamping nail art, but I didn't try that yet.

Dance Legend Mortal Kombat - Rain / Thermal Flakie Polish

Dance Legend has sent me a package with a bunch of beautiful polishes to review and today I will start with one of my favorites. It's Rain* from their Mortal Kombat collection, which is a small but awesome collection of thermo polishes with flakies. Rain is the purple one of the three with orange red flakies. While cold the base is a very dark purple, almost black, but it will turn into a bright purple with increasing warmth. It has a matte finish, which I think makes it even more beautiful. I used two coats for the pictures without any top coat. It will probably not last very long, but since it dried very fast and matte flakies are awesome, that's okay with me. As you can see, I had trouble deciding on pictures, but I guess this one deserves the exposure. You can buy Dance Legend polishes through their website or their partner shops. Due to the Christmas break and the general slowness of the Russian post, this took quite a while to get to Switzerland, which is something worth considering. These are the small DL bottles with 6 ml and their sold for $8 each. I recommend having a look at the other two colors over at Anna Gorelova's blog, since I'm definitely going to get my hands on these as well.

Textured Christmas Stamping feat. Dance Legend - Amethyst / Essie - Penny Talk

After my latest Textured Snowflake Stamping I really wanted to do a similar design, but this time using different colors. I chose one of my favorite textured polishes Dance Legend - Amethyst* as my base color for the stamping. Then I used two images of the MoYou London Christmas Collection #04 and Essie - Penny Talk for the Christmas stamping.

Dance Legend - Waszowski feat. OPI - Ski Teal We Drop

For today I have a very simple nail art with just two different colors. As my base color I used two coats of Dance Legend - Wazowski*. After the base was completely dry, I added a piece of my self-made 2 mm nail art striping tape in center of each nail. Then I used one coat of OPI - Ski Teal We Drop* as my top layer and removed the striping tape. On top of it is one coat of Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri.

Waterspotted Nails - Tutorial for Nail It Magazine

I just wanted to share a tutorial that I created for Nail It magazine! It shows how I created the waterspotted nails from a few weeks ago for The Lacquer Legion challenge. I hope you like it! :)

Waterspotted Nails - Tutorial

Waterspotted Nails - Tutorial

You will need:
  • China Glaze - Holly-Day
  • Dance Legend - Wazowski
  • cup of water
  • disinfectant spray
  • toothpick
  • nail polish remover
  • top coat

1. Paint your nails with your base color. I used two coats of China Glaze - Holly-Day. You can add tape around your nails to prevent a mess.

2. Add a drop of your multichrome polish into the cup of water.

3. Spray it with the disinfectant spray. You can vary the distance of the spray and the waiting time until dipping in your nail to create different effects!

4. Dip your nail into the water and remove the polish on the surface of the water with a toothpick.

5. This is what it looks like without using tape. Time for clean up!

6. Add top coat and you're done!

Essie - Aruba Blue + Dance Legend - Top Sahara

Since I had to schedule some designs and posts, today's nails are already a few days old. The first time I used Dance Legend - Top Sahara (the top coat that changes normal polishes into textured ones) I wrote that I didn't like the glitter too much. I actually changed my mind about it, especially with this combination! I used two coats of Essie - Aruba Blue as my base color and then added two coats of Top Sahara. Again, the textured effect isn't very strong but I love the result! On top of which color would you wear Top Sahara? I'm thinking about pastel colors for spring, that could look very cute!

Waterspotted Nails No. 2 with Dance Legend - Wazowski

Last week I had to come up with a nice design for my nails very fast. In such cases I usually do something easy that I have done before and I will know will turn out pretty. Since I liked my Waterspotted Nails with Dance Legend - Wazowski a lot I decided to do another one of these. I changed my base color to Sally Hansen - New Wave Blue just to see if it works as well. Although I prefer the dark green base in my first design, I do like the result here! I didn't have my Essence top coat with me and had to use Essie - No Chips Ahead which didn't work too well. Wazowski is definitely a favorite of mine at the moment!

The Lacquer Legion Adoration: Waterspotted Chameleon

It's time for the second theme of The Lacquer Legion! This month's challenge was Adoration: something we adore, no matter if it is a person, a color, a design or a nail polish. The first thing that crossed my mind was the water spotted technique from cutepolish which she posted last year. I haven't done one of these in a while and I really love the effect! Obviously I had to combine the technique with a current favorite of mine: Dance Legend - Wazowski from the Chameleon collection. I used it over a base of China Glaze - Holly-Day and the two colors look great together! I'm sure these would also look fabulous in a water marble. I have added some additional pictures to show you the multichrome effect of Wazowski. You can find all of the other designs of this challenge with the hashtag #LLadoration. And you can find my January design here

Bottled Galaxy / Dance Legend - Top Sahara + Celia

I was especially curious about one of the Dance Legend polishes that I received: Top Sahara, the top coat that is supposed to turn every color into a textured polish. I was a bit concerned about the glitter in it though and I would have prefered a plain textured top coat. But the pictures today are actually more about that glitter than about the textured effect. I used two coats of Dance Legend - Celia, one of the beautiful multichromes from their Chameleon collection as my base color. Then I used two coats of Top Sahara over Celia, just to see what would happen. I love the result a lot, the pictures don't do it justice! It looks like a galaxy out of the bottle. I'm definitely going to try more combinations like this one! The Chameleon polishes are sold for 8$ each and Top Sahara for 9 $. You can buy Dance Legend in their online shop or in their partner shops, shipping is 10$ or free if you buy more than ten polishes.

Dance Legend: Candy Flakes - Tinsel, Lollypop, Bite Tonight, Final Fantasy

Another Dance Legend post! I'm gonna show you all four polishes in one post this time. I received four shades from the Candy Flakes collection which has six shades altogether and each bottle is sold for 9$. The formula was alright and I didn't use any top or base coat. I swatched all of them over a darker color as well. My favorite is Tinsel, I'd even wear this one without a darker base because it looks really special! You can buy Dance Legend in their online shop or in their partner shops, shipping is 10$ or free if you buy more than ten polishes.

Dance Legend: Wow Prism - #17 Road to Nowhere

It's time for the last one of my four Dance Legend polishes from the Wow Prism collection, which is #17 called Road to Nowhere. This one is a brownish scattered holo with brown and silver particles. Just like the other ones it has a fluid formula and needs two coats. I'm wearing no base or top coat. Wow Prism polishes are sold for 13$ each. You can buy Dance Legend in their online shop or in their partner shops, shipping is 10$ or free if you buy more than ten polishes.
